Town Hall Meeting

The Town Hall provides an overview of some of the most important issues being addressed by the industry and the association. Topics will include industry trends, CMU Checkoff and masonry design tools.

 

Member Networking Social Event

Tuesday August 6

7:00 – 10:00 PM

Enjoy a fun-filled evening with colleagues, partners and friends high above downtown Seattle, at the Columbia Tower Club. The evening will feature music, games and other special treats by award-winning Chef Riccardo Bilotta, who will tantalize your palate as he shares conversation and mouthwatering delicacies. This promises to be a memorable evening brought to you by some of NCMA’s generous associate members who have pooled their resources to provide one very special evening!

 

Young Professionals Group (YPG)

8:00 – 9:00 AM (Meeting)

7:30 – 9:30 PM (Dinner)

NCMA’s Young Professionals Group will be meeting at the Midyear to discuss work objectives and opportunities.  The YPG will also be hosting a dinner for the college students presenting projects from the Engineering and Architecture Student Design Competitions and the Unit Design Competition that evening at the Pike Brewing Co., one of Seattle’s most popular hot spots.

 

Family Business/Small Business Forum

1:00 – 2:30 PM

This dynamic forum facilitates the exchange of ideas on a variety of topics including best practices, compliance, human resources, healthcare, legal issues, succession planning and employee retention. Forum participants gain useful insights to improve day-to-day operations of their family-owned or small businesses.

 

Unit Design Competition Presentation and Awards

5:00 – 6:00 PM

The much-anticipated top three student design teams will present their innovative block designs during the Midyear Meeting and the national winner of the 2019 Unit Design Competition will be announced immediately following the presentations. Presented by the NCMA Education & Research Foundation.

 

Concrete Women Connect

Join other women in the industry for networking and exchanging ideas at a reception.

 

Political Action Committee Reception

6:30 – 8:00 PM

This very popular event supports the fundraising efforts for the NCMA PAC.  Come join us for a fun evening with wonderful food and prizes generously donated by NCMA members.

 

Production Technology and Operations Forum

Thursday August 8

10:15 – 11:30 AM

Take part in this all-new forum highlighting topics relative to unit production and plant operations. Hosted by the Production Technology and Operations Committee, the Forum will provide an opportunity for open discussion, best practice sharing, and idea exchange relative to safety, operations, efficiency and production. Don’t miss this inaugural event dedicated to production technology.

Business Luncheon

Thursday August 8

12:00 – 2:00 PM

Don’t miss the NCMA Business Luncheon where some well deserving folks will be honored and NCMA Chairman Daryl Winegar will provide an update on the state of the association.  Charles Newsome of  Johnson Concrete Products will be inducted into the NCMA Hall of Fame.  David Biggs, PE, SE, and Richard M. Bennett, PE, PhD, will receive NCMA Champion Awards for their commitment to the industry.
